Storyteller: Schmidt
Name: Leonard Brenegli
Clan: Brujah
Allegiance: Anarch
Status/Rank: 2
Mentor: 5
Appearance: Large (6'5”) bearded white male, late forties
Description: Leonard is possibly the most famous Anarch in the entire world. Little is known about his origins. He is known to have been active in the failed revolutions of 1848, acting even then as a roving Anarch ambassador. Rumor has it he was present during the French Revolution, but no other Kindred survive from that time in order to testify to the fact. Whether he was around for the original Renaissance Anarch Revolt is unknown. After 1848, Brenegli was a constant roving figure in revolutionary circles, owing to both his desire to spread revolutionary doctrines amongst the Kindred and the habit Camarilla Princes had of calling blood hunts on him.

Of particular interest to Leonard during this time was his home country of Russia. He returned to the sparsely populated and backwards land time and again during the second half of the nineteenth century, calling for justice for both Kindred and Kine (in fact, he was once imprisoned by the Tsar's mortal forces). In 1917 he joined his fellow Brujah in their attempt to establish a Vampire Utopia ? replacing the White Queen with the Red Bear. He was summarily expelled from the country for advocating a separation from the Camarilla power structure by clan members whose revolutionary fervor didn't extend as far as Brenegli's.

In 1968 he tried again, being the major mover behind the 1968 Paris revolt. It took the combined weight of the European Camarilla to quash the revolt, and Brenegli barely escaped the city with his life. After the successful Portland/Eugene revolts, the Oregon Anarchs invited Leonard to come help with their revolution, which he gladly did. Providing both philosophical ideology and military tactics, Brenegli proved invaluable to the cause and is viewed by many as the chief reason the West Coast revolt spread as far as it did. Brenegli attempted to capitalize on the Los Angeles Rebellion in 1994 and bring L.A. into the free state, but failed. Then his beloved Free State was overrun with Cathayans. Then his closest allies decided to choose life over liberty and abandoned the cause of Anarchy in favor of a place within the Mandarin's Empire.

Now he is a refugee, living in a city that rejected him in a world that has forsaken him. Brenegli is no longer hunted. He is just ignored.

Storyteller: Schmidt
Name: Carlsbad
Clan: Nosferatu
Allegiance: Nosferatu
Status/Rank: 3/Representative (Primogen)
Mentor: 3
Appearance: Demon-faced Doyle
Description: The Nosferatu of Los Angeles were devastated by the Anarch Rebellion, following the death of Prince Hannover. Those that survived the fight against the Camarilla were killed by the Sabbat. Those that survived the Sabbat were killed by Cathayans. If any survived the aftermath at all, they fled the city.

After Carmichael united the gangs and began to rule the city, he put out a call asking for all of the kindred of Los Angeles to present themselves to him. A year later Carlsbad emerged from the sewers and claimed to represent "All of the lepers, the sewer rats, the haunts, the creeps, the unseen, the dark places underneath you".

When in court Carlsbad always voices opinions in the first-person plural, and alludes to a large number of Nosferatu living hidden in the city, many of whom appear outrank him in the Clan's authority structure.

Storyteller: Schmidt
Name: Andrew “Lefty” Carmichael
Clan: Caitiff
Allegiance: "I hold, and will only hold, allegiance to the city of Los Angeles and its Kindred."
Status/Rank: 5/Prince
Mentor: 5
Appearance: An attractive, but ordinary-looking, civil servant
Description: Andrew Carmichael was a prosecuting attorney in Darwin, Australia when he was attacked and embraced by an unknown vampire. Abandoned and ignorant of the ways of the Kindred, Carmichael managed to survive where many others would have failed. He eventually made his way to Sydney, where Prince Sarrasine held power as a Caitiff. Realizing that his political skills might not be wasted in unlife, and that despite his low station he could rise to prominence, Carmichael was filled with a renewed sense of hope and began honing his mental, physical, and metaphysical abilities.

Several years later word of the failed Anarch rebellion and chaotic aftermath reached Australia. Carmichael collected all the information he could about the events in Los Angeles and flew to the city. He studied the city and its denizens, making himself known to the various gang leaders, but always remaining studiously neutral. After spending nearly a year listening to the various arguments and complaints of the differing factions, Carmichael began offering solutions and mediating differences between the gangs. After a while, he became the informal judge of the city, and eventually, its Prince.

Now, a decade later, memories of the bad old days are beginning to fade, but the Australian Caitiff is the uncontested master of Los Angeles.

Storyteller: Schmidt
Name: Dennis Carpenter
Clan: Nosferatu
Allegiance: Autarkis
Status: 2
Mentor: 4
Appearance: Uggo
Description: Carpenter, like most Nosferatu, doesn't talk about his past very often. Rumor has it that he was a Sewer Rat before he was embraced by the Sewer Rats — an urban spelunker who ventured too deep into the darkness. Unlike most Nosferatu, he was remarkably well-adjusted after the change — viewing the power and immortality as more than enough to make up for the curse and damnation.

The only thing that ever really bothered Dennis was other people telling him what to do. And after the change, it seemed like a whole bunch of motherfuckers decided that they got to tell Dennis what to do. This upset Dennis, who just wanted to be an eternal adventurer, perhaps even a comic book hero. And every time some damn Prince, Primogen, or elder told him what he could and could not do, he got a little angrier. For most of his unlife, when he got really angry, he'd just leave the city and move on. But the anger remained.

Arriving in L.A. In 1989, Carpenter quickly found a group of Angry Young Vampires like himself, led by Larry Montebank and T.J. Barker. Still, his anger grew, as the elders of this city behaved like any other. In fact, his anger grew and grew until he punched it all out, through L.J. Turner's during the revolution. It was a cathartic experience, but was not enough. When Barker attacked General Brock and was in turn killed by Colonel Tower, Carpenter finished the job and killed Tower.

Eventually the killing became too much. In the chaos following the Anarch Rebellion, Carpenter could feel his humanity slipping away. He left politics, disappeared into the city, and vowed only to feed and kill on the criminal scum ruining Los Angeles. Now that Z and his gang have returned, DC has been brought forcibly back into Kindred society, and he's having new thoughts. Maybe some of the criminal scum have fangs.

Storyteller: Schramm
Name: Seneschal Gavin Chambers
Clan: Ventrue
Allegiance: Former Camarilla
Status/Rank: 4/Seneschal
Mentor: 4
Appearance: Besuited, bespectacled, and benign
Description: Gavin Chambers, embraced with all due ceremony into the most righteous and good Clan Ventrue, for the betterment of himself, his clan, and his countrymen, was bred to rule. Or at least to be a remarkably efficient civil servant. After the usual fifty year apprenticeship (to the Prince of Birmingham, England, thanks for asking), Gavin set out on his own. Hearing of the Anarch troubles, and having some experience with the Irish Kine problems, Chambers traveled to the other side of the world to offer his services.

What he found when he arrived shocked some sense into him. Realizing that he would never be able to tame the city himself, Chambers attached himself to Carmichael, pursuing a series of political agreements and compromises that brought order to the city and Carmichael to the throne. In exchange for formally leaving and denouncing the Camarilla, Chambers was granted by Carmichael (and by extension, the rest of the Kindred of the city) the position of Seneschal. He handles most of the day-to-day affairs of the city, leaving Carmichael to chart broad strategy and engage in sensitive negotiations between the fractious Kindred.

Chambers is missing, and presumed dead.

Storyteller: Timmermann
Name: Joseph "Joe" Georgio
Clan: Giovanni
Allegiance: Dead Presidents
Status/Rank: 3/Primogen
Mentor: 4
Appearance: A regular greaseball type, ya know?
Description: The Independent Primogen, Joe Georgio is an import from the Five Bourroughs of yesteryear, when business was good, the city was on the take, and getting Made was better than getting laid. Not one to abandon a working business model, Joe operates broad, deep, and subtle throughout much of the blue-collar commerce in L.A., and always checks references of future business parters. Though ostensibly a Giovanni, Joe prides himself on keeping that sort of haunted house bullshit on the down-low, with his skeletons remaining discreetly in the closet where they belong (even if they are literal).

Theoretically, Joe sits on the Primogen Council as a representative of those vampires that might check the "Other" box for their clan, and takes this position as seriously as can be expected. That is, if someone comes to him wanting representation, they'll most assuredly get a fair price their request. If they can't meet his price, they'll be offered a line of credit, which, at that point, is not wise to refuse. The last Kindred that reneged on a deal with Joe ended up with his Pac Highway haven falling into the ocean in the middle of the morning. And it had just been inspected the day before...

Storyteller: Schramm
Name: Samheep Godwhani
Clan: Follower of Set
Allegiance: You, baby, only you
Status/Rank: 2
Mentor: 1
Appearance: East Indian Male, appears to be early 30s
Description: Samheep came to California as an immigrant in the early nineties, on a student Visa. To make ends meet he took up cab driving. However as rent kept on increasing and his income did not Samheep took to dealing drugs out of his cab. Admiring his resourcefulness, a Setite passing through California during the Anarch revolt embraced him. When the Anarch Free State of Los Angeles collapsed and Carmichael took over, Samheep migrated to the city. While he still pushes drugs out of his cab, Samheep is more widely known as the vampire cabby. If a vamp needs a late night pickup, doesn't own a car, or needs to get out of a bad place quick, Samheep is your man. Of course, it helps if you're already dead, as Samheep's driving skills are very creative.

Storyteller: ?
Name: The Mandarin
Clan: N/A
Allegiance: Cathayan
Status/Rank: 6/Emperor
Mentor: N/A
Appearance: ?
Description: It is not definitively known, amongst the denizens of Los Angeles, whether or not the Mandarin is just one person or is some sort of ruling body. One theory is that he is an ancient Chinese vampiric wizard (the equivalent to an Asian Tremere). Another is that the title Mandarin refers to a council of elder Cathayans who speak with one voice. What is known is that the Mandarin has issued an edict of peace with the Kindred (Kin-Jin) of Los Angeles, as long as the Cathayan people are allowed safe passage. Carmichael, for his part, guarantees safe passage to all vampires, Eastern or Western, so this demand is easily met. Some kindred speculate, however, that it's only a matter of time before some rogue agent kills a Cathayan in Los Angeles...

Storyteller: Schmidt
Name: Rosemary Price
Clan: Brujah
Allegiance: Former Anarch
Status/Rank: 4/Baron
Mentor: 3
Appearance: White female, early 60s
Description: Rosemary Price, childe of Orlando, was amongst the youngest of Camarilla Princes. A former Political Science Professor at the University of Santa Barbara, Price was embraced with the specific goal of her serving as Prince of the city. With her sire serving as one of the Primogen in Los Angeles, it was clear to all that Santa Barbara was a client of L.A. This allowed for a stable political situation in this community as standard regulations (especially insofar as the 3rd and 5th Traditions were concerned) were eased for L.A. natives who enjoyed traveling between the cities. Price had a pretty cushy job, with few of the responsibilities and many of the perks of being a Prince.

After the revolution, however, Price's position changed overnight. Hannover was dead, and with him all the agreements that safeguarded Santa Barbara. Her sire was dead, killed by her own clan. Unlike other Prince's in her situation, Price could feel the sand shifting under her feet, and she decided to go with the chaos. She ordered the death of loyal Camarilla Primogen and rallied the Anarchs to her banner. The Prince of Santa Barbara became its first Baron, changing its power structure without losing her power.

Santa Barbara weathered the death of Petradon and the aftermath of chaos better than the city proper, and Price retained her leadership role. While she hasn't actually sworn allegiance to Prince Carmichael, the two have friendly relations, and Santa Barbara needs Los Angeles too much for her to oppose him.

Storyteller: Timmermann
Name: Rico "Red" Renaissance
Clan: Follower of Set
Allegiance: The God of Darkness and Storms, Benificient Lord of True Corruption.
Status/Rank: 3/Keeper
Mentor: 4
Appearance: Slithery, with red hair
Description: The Keeper of Elysium, Rico, or "Red" as his long-time business partners know him, is the world's most honest and hard-working Setite. Which is to say, he's honest about being a Setite. Always eager to meet new friends and arrange new business relationships, Red wholeheartedly supports the independence of L.A., which is good for business. An easy smile and friendly handshake promise the world to new clients, and he prides himself on making the benefits of dealing with him at least seem to well outweigh the attached strings.

Those that would disrespect his Elysium with threats or violence are simply handled discreetly, then not invited back. That is, no one seems to ever want to come back to Elysium after having made a scene.

Storyteller: Timmermann
Name: Pierre "The Manager" Salinger
Clan: Malkavian
Allegiance: Former Camarilla
Status/Rank: 3/Whip
Mentor: 3
Appearance: White male, mid-thirties
Description: Just a little too young for WWII, Salinger grew up dreaming about the golden age of radio. He moved to L.A. and managed to have something of a career — "The Pierre Salinger Show", an "Ed Sullivan" type variety show, was a modest radio success in the early 50s. He was in negotiations with NBC over the possibility of moving his show to TV in 1958... when he disappeared!

Salinger emerged from seclusion in 1965... as a Vampire! His show biz career obviously ended, Salinger set himself up as an agent and manager. He gained control of a fairly large stable of actors, directors, rock stars, etc. and acted as a go-between for the Kindred and the Beautiful People.

While Salinger maintained neutrality during the Anarch Revolt, many in the Camarilla felt that he secretly sided with the Anarchs. He even took a few in during Anarch March (one of the Anarchs later painted a Red Cross on his door as a joke). Salinger had hoped that he could continue to live and work in L.A. despite regime change. When Dare was shot into torpor, Salinger realized his error, and fled the city with her body. Five years later, after Carmichael restored order, Salinger was again drawn to showbiz life in the showbiz town, and as a relatively stable elder, was given the position of whip in Carmichael's court.
